30 journalists of Portuguese state-owned newspaper Diario de Noticias have denounced Communist line of newspaper and case is taken up on Aug 18 in staff meeting; newly elected leadership of Journalists Union supports 30; publishes communique backing rebels and demanding immediate dismissal of Information Min Jorge Correia Jesuino; 1st evidence of rebellion among newsmen was victory of anti-Communist slate in union elections last wk; winning state was composed of Socialists and members of Maoist Movement for Reorganization of Portuguese Proletariat; pres is Mario Contumelias, 1 of rebel journalists; Raul Rego, Socialist and former dir of newspaper Republica, says he plans to start new wkly called A Luta which will be Socialist and independent; much of press dissension was stirred by recent publication of bill that would renew press censorship; another reason was announcement that state-owned papers were in financial difficulties and that austerity measures would be necessary; last wk radical left-wing wkly, Sempre Fixe, had to suspend publication (M)
