NEWPORT, Aug. 6. -- The leading social event to-night was the dinner dance given by Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Oelrichs in honor of their daughter, Miss Lily Oelrichs, and her fiance, Peter D. Martin of San Francisco. The entertainment was given at the Clambake club at Easton's Point, which is becoming more and more popular for dinners and other social events.

NEWS OF THE RAILROADS; LACAKAWANNA ROAD CHANGES.

Through the completion of the heavy new bridges over the Hackensack and the Passaic Rivers, the Lackawanna Railroad has been enabled to run much heavier equipment over its Morris and Essex Division. The first tangible benefit due to these improvements is now to result to the inhabitants of Newark, the Oranges, Morristown, and other important suburban towns along the Lackawanna.
