Negotiations have been going on for some time for the construction of a playhouse in Forty-fifth Street, west of the two new theatres being built by the Shuberts for the French Theatre and Oliver Morosco.

The improvement displayed in stocks, both on the Stock Exchange and the Curb, on Friday afternoon, was continued with considerable vigor yesterday, the list showing an average gain of about 2 points at the close. The Street appeared to be well over its early scare about possible radical readjustments due in the near future because of signs of peace negotiations.
