Manuela Mirkos and John Costa Defterios were married in Greece on Monday by the Rev. Nikolaos Mavroyiannis at the Greek Orthodox Chapel of Chrysopigi on the island of Sifnos. The bride, 33, is a news assistant in the Rome bureau of The New York Times. She graduated from the University of Rome and received a master's degree in journalism from Luiss University in Rome. Her parents, Anna and Nicolas Mirkos, live in Rome, where her father is the chief executive of Memo, a distributor of computer hardware and a consulting concern.
